Certification Availability

Certification is my concern. It is only available for those who fit in a certain mold, if you want to increase cohesiveness and membership, change the rules and make it available for all chefs.



  1. This is already in motion with the current administration. I believe that certification is paramount to success in our profession. This includes being recognized by the United States Department of Labor and Education, and making chef certification compulsory for foodservice establishments. Currently, there is a Commission that is autonomous from the ACF that has a very diversed membership outside the culinary arts. I am confident that we are heading in the right direction. This process will take at least another 4-5 years to come to reality.

  2. I agree that the I am concerned about my certification availability. I am a business owner and there is little if any time for renewing my certification. I want to be a part of the ACF, but it is very hard.
